Eyebrows and Eyelashes

Main reasons why a perm/lifting cannot be uploaded

  • Incorrect make-up removal. Always use a water-based product.
  • A tail occlusion on the eyelash hair. In such a way as to prevent the penetration of the products.
  • The first drop of the permanent gel container has not been removed.
  • The permanent gel has been removed with water.
  • Exposure times are incorrect.
  • Oxidation of the product due to improper opening of the container, poor maintenance.

How long does the permanent and lifting service last?

The lifting/permanent lasts between a month and a half depending on the growth of the natural eyelash.

Is it possible to apply blond dye on eyelashes?

No. It is a bleach and as such cannot be used in the eye area. Only on eyebrows.

Which service should be done first – dyeing or perming/lifting?

Always put the dye at the end. It would break the color if it were the other way around. In addition, the dye includes Keratin, Argan and Aloe Vera that help regenerate and nourish the eyelash.

Can mascara be applied after a perm or facelift?

Yes, as long as 24 hours have elapsed since the service. When a perm or lifting treatment is performed, the structure of the hair is modified and needs that time to properly seal its shape.

If the client wears contact lenses, can treatment be performed on the eyes?

Yes, subject to their removal.

Can dye be applied to the facial area?

Yes.

Is it necessary to perform tolerance tests?

Yes, it is always necessary to perform the tolerance test, both for the glue and the dye. Apply a line of product with a cotton swab where the skin is thinner, such as behind the ear, on the inside of the wrist or on the bend of the elbow.

Acrylic nails

Can products from two different lines be mixed?

They should not be mixed because each line is specific to the product particle.

Who dictates acrylic drying times?

It is dictated by the sculpting liquids. The drying speed will depend on them.

Can built-up nails be polished with semi-permanent nail polish?

They can be enameled once the filing has been completed.

Are glitter-based acrylic colors recommended for encapsulation?

Encapsulation with Crystal acrylic powder is recommended.

How do you withdraw?

For the removal of the acrylic it is recommended to apply Artificial Nail Remover and file the remaining product.

Advanced Evolution

Is it necessary to apply a coat of Clear Transparent to build a salon nail?

This is not necessary because all of our Advanced Evolution gels are builders offering the highest hardness, strength and adhesion.

What is the cover included in the Advanced Evolution box used for?

It is used to avoid gel loss once the product has been opened. It is recommended to remove the aluminum foil and replace it with the lid.

What method is used to remove the Advanced Evolution gel?

It will be removed only with the help of a file or a lathe (currently there is no product that helps the removal of the gel).

Acrylic Gel

In which mold can I build Acrylic Gel?

We recommend using the Crystal Nail Form gel molds for a better catalyzation of the product in the LED 8’UV lamp, remembering that if the White color is catalyzed in the lamp, since it has a higher concentration of pigment, it will be necessary to catalyze it a second time to make sure it is completely dry.

Can Acrylic Gel be built over tip?

Yes, it is possible with the same preparation method as in gel or acrylic.

What method is used for drying Acrylic Gel?
Only lamp is used. For LED lamp 60 seconds are required and for UV lamp 2 minutes are required.
How is it removed?
It will be removed only with the help of a file (currently we say that with our argan nail polish remover exposed to 15 minutes after having removed up to 20% of the product it is easily removed).

Color

Why does my permanent enamel color shrink?

  • Primer and color excess.
  • Poor preparation of the nail.
  • Do not let the primer dry.
  • Do not mix with other brands.

Why does my brush harden?

It cannot give you natural light or light from the drying lamp.

Color darkens, especially lighter colors.
The top coat is porous, lets light through and retains dust. It is necessary to seal, in the case of light colors, the Top Coat Anti-yellowing, it does not have pores and avoids these situations. In this case, file a little before removing the enamel.
How often should the bulbs be changed?
We recommend every 6 months for UV bulbs.
I do not have a shiny polish after applying the Gel Finisher
Once the hand is removed from the lamp, wait 10 seconds before applying the Gel Finisher. Do not use alcohol.
Can it be applied in a semi-permanent cuticle softening enamel?

No. It is a greasy product incompatible with semi-permanent enamels.

My semi-permanent polish does not last more than 2 weeks.
You have to seal all the layers of the polish, not just the top coat.
Can I use moisturizers with the glazing service?

It should always be used after performing the complete semi-permanent glaze.

Thuya Method

With Method products, when do I start to see results?

From the first application we begin to see effective and visible results. For them to last over time, we recommend using them on a regular basis.

Are these products intended for hands and feet only?

In principle, they are created to treat and cover the skin needs of hands and feet (a thicker skin than the rest of the body).

Are they free of parabens?

Of course. Method products, and all other Thuya products, have the maximum safety.

Can Method treatments be combined with each other?

Yes, what’s more, if you know each line that forms it, the professional can design your ideal treatment in a more personalized way.

What are the advantages of Method vs. other products on the market?

Its high percentage of active ingredients makes the difference.

Why does Method perform so well?

Because all the products that compose it are real TREATMENTS. They do not remain on the superficial part of the skin. They act and work in the deepest layer of the epidermis.

Why is the Scrub called DOUBLE ACTION?

Because in addition to exfoliating (deep cleansing), it acts as a cosmetic skin treatment thanks to its active ingredients.

Do Method’s Masks only act on the outermost part of the skin like other products on the market do?

No. Thanks to their composition in active ingredients, they penetrate to the last layer of the epidermis to offer the most optimal results.

Can a semi-permanent nail service be done after a Method treatment?

Thuya Method treatments grease the nail plate, so they should always be done before the permanent nail polish service. On the other hand, this does not affect the traditional nail polish(DELUXE and CLASSIC), which should be applied after the treatment.

What does it depend on to choose one scrub or another?

It will depend on the area to be worked on and above all on the need of the skin to be treated.

How to extend the treatment?

To continue the cosmetic treatment and achieve a long-lasting effect, continuous application of the cream is recommended.

Our Commitment

What does Cruelty Free mean?

A “Cruelty-free” product means that it has not been tested on animals. Unfortunately, only 37 countries worldwide have total or partial bans on animal testing in the cosmetics sector. That is why, under this claim, in addition to guaranteeing that the product or products are not tested on animals, there is the struggle and commitment of many companies against this type of unnecessary mistreatment.

Are we a Cruelty-free brand and why don’t we say so?

We are a Cruelty free brand, but we do not make special emphasis on it because since 2013, in Europe it is forbidden by regulation no. 1223/2009 to test on animals. We are a local brand with laboratory in Barcelona, therefore, we are subject to EU laws.

It is for this reason that we believe it is unethical to use the claim “Cruelty free” in advertising to imply that our products have an additional benefit that in reality is mandatory not only for our brand, but for all those brands that are governed by the European regulation.

What does it mean that a product is vegan?

When we say that a product is vegan, we are referring to the fact that its composition contains neither animal ingredients nor animal derivatives.

What is the difference between Vegan and Cruelty Free?

Be aware that this can be confusing. The “Cruelty Free” label means that the product and its ingredients were not tested on animals, while the “vegan” label means that the product does not contain animal products or ingredients. Thus, it is important to know that a Cruelty Free product does not necessarily mean that it is vegan, just as, although it is not the most common for ethical reasons, a vegan product that does not contain animal products may have been tested on animals.

How do I know if a Thuya product is vegan?

You can find out if a product is vegan on the corresponding product page, specifically in the description section of our website. Each vegan product is clearly marked with an identifying symbol. If you want more detailed information, you can always consult the list of ingredients of the product in question.

At Thuya we are working towards a more sustainable world and our goal is to use as many natural ingredients as possible in the formulation of most of our products. However, in some of them we retain certain ingredients of animal origin in order to preserve the relationship between product quality and efficacy, among other factors such as scent, feel and moisturizing capacity.

Made in Barcelona

We are a brand with our own headquarters and laboratory in the city of Barcelona. Day after day the professionals that make up the company work hand in hand with the laboratory experts. The advantage of this is that we receive first hand information about the products and we are permanently in contact with them in order to study and launch new products on a constant basis.
