Truths and Lies: Eyelash Extensions

They say that the eyes are the mirror of the soul, we know that! The eyes have a great power and we like to take care of them, because through a look we are able to seduce, convince or reject.

Among the different techniques to beautify the eyes, today we are going to focus on eyelash extensions. What is true and what is false in these 6 myths?

Myth Nº1:

Sleeping with eyelash extensions damages the eyes.

False The extension is placed directly on the eyelash hair. Never on the eyelid skin. Precisely the purpose of this treatment is to intensify your look for as long as you want.

Myth Nº2:

Eyelash extensions are the same as false eyelashes.

False. False. False eyelashes are placed on top of your eyelid, all at once, in one strip. However, eyelash extensions can be individual or in groups, but in both cases the glue is applied to your own eyelash. It is a much more thorough service and has a longer lasting effect, protecting the skin of the eye and giving a more natural effect.

Myth Nº3:

Extensions will make my eyelash fall out.

False. As long as we start from the premise of using a quality product and go to a regulated professional. Eyelashes have their own cycle, that is, they need between 4 and 8 weeks to reach their maximum growth, to fall and make way for the new one. The fact that eyelashes grow and fall is part of their life cycle.

Myth Nº4

Eyelash extensions are permanent.

False. As we mentioned in the previous point, the eyelash hair has a life cycle that will determine the maintenance of the extension. It is advisable to visit your esthetician every 21 days, since eyelashes do not grow at the same rate and you should fix the long ones and place extensions on the ones that have been born.

Myth Nº5:

Eyelash extensions cause allergies.

False. The eyelashes themselves do not cause allergies. However, if your skin is sensitive we recommend that you discuss this with your esthetician so that they can test the glue on another part of the body, for example, on the wrist.

Myth Nº6:

I have to use mascara.

False. The eyelash extension treatment adds intensity and personality, so you are not obliged to use mascara. If you decide to use mascara, just keep in mind that the removal should be gentle, without dragging from the root.

From Thuya we recommend you to have your eyelashes tinted 24 hours before the eyelash extensions service. This way you will enhance the effect and the desired color and you will forget about mascara.
